Zero Tolerance on Aggression and Violence Policy

We treat all patients with courtesy and respect and expect the same in return. Abuse, aggression, harassment, or threatening behaviour towards GPs or Practice Staff will not be tolerated.

This includes behaviour in person, by phone, or in writing, such as:

  • Aggressive or threatening actions
  • Abusive or intimidating language
  • Shouting, raised voices, or pointing fingers
  • Hostile or pushy behaviour
  • Swearing, threats, or spitting
  • Mentioning or displaying weapons or objects that could be used as weapons
  • Personal comments directed at staff or other patients

Any physical abuse or threats of violence will be reported to the police. Patients involved may be removed from the practice list and asked to register elsewhere.

All incidents of abusive or threatening behaviour will be recorded and reviewed by the Practice Manager. A first incident may result in a warning. A second incident may lead to removal from the practice list.

This policy applies to all patients, including GMS, DVC, and private patients.

Please note that CCTV is in operation throughout the practice for security purposes.
